Summary:
The Desktop Publishing Specialist will be responsible for designing, formatting, and producing both printed and digital materials. This role also involves creating and managing technical and instructional documents. The ideal candidate will have expertise in desktop publishing tools, excellent documentation skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and layout various print and digital materials, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, reports, and presentations.
- Create, format, and maintain technical documents, user manuals, training materials, and other documentation as required.
- Work closely with internal teams to gather content, understand design requirements, and ensure all materials adhere to brand guidelines.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant design software to produce high-quality visuals.
- Proofread and edit documents for accuracy, consistency, grammar, and adherence to style guides.
- Ensure proper version control and documentation practices are followed for all materials.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with external vendors, such as printers and web developers, to ensure the successful production and delivery of materials.
- Stay updated on design trends and best practices in documentation and desktop publishing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Technical Communication, Visual Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in desktop publishing and documentation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other design tools.
- Experience with documentation tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or other content management systems.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout principles, and document formatting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience in creating technical or instructional content is a plus.
